I have been saving these pics for the perfect day, and looks like this is the lucky Wednesday. How I love public art, especially those infamous pieces around town. Take a peak.

Do you have a favorite piece of Cleveland Art?
i don't know if it's public art, but i love the green neon glowing gross above the church on detroit and w.25th.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the original St. Malachi Church was dedicated in 1871 with its green cross illuminated to help guide sailors and boats on Lake Erie to shore. I doubt it was in neon-form then, but I sure do love it as well!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the grafitti when I ride the Rapid. Even though it's not legal art, it's still lovely.
ReplyDeleteI too love the grafitti. I just wish it was better. Know what I mean? Need more skilled taggers in the area.
ReplyDeleteI also like the new RTA murals under the W. 117th RAPID bridge. They're pretty cheesy but at least they're colorful. Better than nothing.
These murals and the Rapid's grafitti are things that distinguish a really cultural, creative city. Cleveland's got so many great museums and galleries, but artwork like this that's out in the open for everyone's enjoyment is a great cultural statement!
