La Boheme (4/26)
Saturday, April 26th, 2008
Infused with melodic richness, La bohème vibrantly illuminates bohemian Paris. In his artists' garret, poet Rodolfo falls for the sweet but ill Mimi, culminating in two of opera's greatest arias. Throughout the plot, their troubled romance is paralleled by the tempestuous relationship of the coquettish Musetta and painter Marcello. From the lively and comedic antics in a Left Bank café to the poignancy of the bittersweet reunion, Puccini's popular opera both delights our senses and reaches into our hearts.
