Good Pickin!

It’s almost officially summer (6/21), how do I know? Because the berry patches are filled with juicy, finger-staining creations... aka Strawberries.

Last weekend a friend of mine and I took in the early morning sunshine and set out to pick us some berries. We drove to Avon and south on Rt. 83 to a berry palace called Fitch Farms. We drove the hay filled tractor trailer back into the fields. Pick one...eat two...pick three...eat two....I know we picked 4 quarts (one basket) but I wonder how many we ate along the way? Shhhh.

Fitch's Farm Market is a sixth generation vegetable farm. In-market and pick-your-own vegetables are available while in season. Beginning in late April, vegetable and flower plants are also available. Berry picking times are as follows...Mon-Fri 9:30 - 7:00 (you could squeeze it in after work some evening), Saturday 9:30 - 5:00 and Sunday 11:30 - 5:00. For other details give them a call at (440) 934-6125.

Also, be warned, Strawberries stain, I used to have a white tank top...now I have a white tank top with pink polka dots! :)
