Bridge Party (9/25-26)
Friday September 25th and Saturday September 26th, 2009
So, I get this email from a friend of mine who lives in California..she says I simply "MUST" check out this event. (I think it's great that a West Coast "Clevelander" still keeps up with the happenings of our great city, I sorta think she may have been a bit jealous? Just a tad.)
Anyways, have you heard of the big Bridge Party that happening this week? The summer “Ingenuity” festival will expand beyond its weekend festival and transform one of the most fascinating urban spaces in the City into a center of art and performance. An urban space that lies central to Cleveland with spectacular views of downtown, the Cuyahoga River, the Flats, Lake Erie: the streetcar level of the Detroit Superior Bridge, immediately below and parallel to the vehicular level.
Free to the public it will include arts and crafts vendors, food and beverage vendors (including beer and wine), bands and solo performers positioned across the great span of the bridge with the more complex installations and performances taking place at either end. The event will include, as at all Ingenuity events, most exhibits and performances are family friendly and each night closes with a musical event.
